Happy Birthday, Sydney!

Today is my little girl's 6th birthday. I can't believe it, where does the time go?

In honor of her birthday, I will share some pictures of her that were taken in the past month.

This picture was taken while we were in Florida for Christmas. All the girls in my family and a few friends when to have lunch at a local tea room, The Garden Gate. We all put on fun hats and had a wonderful time. Sydney and I decided to wear the flowers that came on our plates.

This one is of Sydney wearing her "fancy" hat at the "Tea Party". I love this picture because it shows off her beautiful smile and all of her missing teeth.

Last is a picture of her in her Christmas pajama's taken Christmas morning. She was so excited to see all that Santa brought.

I am so blessed to have such a precious girl in my life. God gave me a wonderful gift and I will always be thankful.

A New Bed for Baby Jesus

The other evening I was straightening up the living room after the children had gone to bed. As most of you know, there is no use doing it while they are awake. I was picking up a few things beside the wooden manger scene that my J-Mom painted for me one Christmas. My father cut it out of wood and she painted it up knowing that one day I would have children and that this would be the manger scene they could play with. I notice something a little different...

Do you see it? Let's take a closer look...

Yes, someone in my house has put baby Jesus in a little pink cradle. Oh, how sweet!

Grayson's 2nd Birthday!

Today is my baby boy's 2nd birthday. Some days I am so surprised he has lived this long, he is such a dare devil. But he is and we love him more today than we did the day he was born.

In honor of his birthday I will share with you the event that happened last night.
First, I always put my hair up in what my mother calls a "topknot".

Sydney then decided that she needed to have her hair put up in a ponytail.

As you can probably imagine, Grayson had to have his up, too.

He is such a goofy little boy.

Below is him on his Big Wheel that he got for his birthday. He has to ride it in the house for now due to rain outside. Say a prayer for my Christmas tree!

Happy Birthday, Grayson, and many more!!!

My daughter has holes in her ears.

Yesterday Sydney and I had a "mommy and me" day. She has been begging me for weeks now to get her ears pierced. We took Grayson over to Gammie's house. There was no way I was battling him and eye piercing at the same time without drugs, so he stayed and we went.

We went to the mall and our first stop was Claire's. She was very nervous. They only had one girl there, so she had to get one ear done at a time. I was a little nervous then, wondering if she actually do both after the first was done. Below is before the piercing began...smiling and happy.

And during the torture...I mean, piercing.

Finally, we were done. She officially had holes in her ears. I was so proud of her, she was a brave little girl. Here she is below sporting her new earrings.

They were beautiful flower earrings. They were far better than the round silver balls that I had when I got mine pierced for the first time.

So much for her staying a baby forever. My little girl is growing up. Sniff...Sniff.

Sydney's Hairdo

Yesterday, Sydney decided she would do her own hair for school. She did and it was...um...very lovely.

She was so proud of her work. Notice in the pictures that she is also wearing a red long sleeve shirt with a turquoise short sleeve shirt over it. I am not sure she matched, but it was better than the tank top that she wanted to wear.

Notice how she pulled her hair back into a pony tail, she didn't do half bad. She even accented it with a lime green bow. Mind you, she was not wearing any lime green.

She is such a beautiful little girl and I love her very much. Yes, I did let the teacher know when I let her out of the car that Sydney did her own hair...all by herself.
